Got Ice?
We had some for a minute then poof, it was gone. As I write this (January 7) there was no ice on Townsend Lake.
Our February 18th Ice fishing event may have to be postponed or canceled or changed to a beach picnic. Time will tell. Speaking of ice, I found a fairly interesting video showing Great Lakes ice cover over the past few decades on the NOAA (National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration) website https://www.glerl.noaa.gov/data/ice/historicalAnim/ it looks very cyclical to me.

Spring is right around the corner and that will hopefully lead to another great fishing season. We are working on some dock improvement plans for both sites.
We would love to have input from YOU!!
A poorly guarded secret is the OCSC Campground dock is a great place to launch your kayaks for paddling or fishing on the Clinton River up into Woodhull Lake and Lake Oakland. Check it out!
While we wait for ice I had some time to tie a few ice fishing flies……Fish eat them or no? Tail or no tail what do you think?

Fishing Licenses expire March 31st so let’s renew them and get out on the water.
