Our opening workbee was a rousing success. We had a very good turnout and got a lot done, including disposing of enough scrap Armco material and other unusable steel to fill a large trailer. Around $700.00 in scrap steel! The track is ready for OTD 1 and 2, Driver’s School, and race weekend one.
We showed up with enough scrap aluminum to win the contest with the other sub clubs. Besides bragging rights, the BOD will get to choose the charity the proceeds will go to. As we are all painfully aware, we are very good at making scrap out of expensive car parts, but special thanks are in order to Jerry Pintar, who spent part of the day collecting scrap from members unable to bring it in themselves.
