November 1, 2023Bonjour to Skinners and flat landers alike…
I would like to begin by thanking my excellent friends who got me to the hospital when I started to vapor lock! Clan brothers Nick Ewing, Dr Phil Durocher, Paul Gulewich, called an ambulance and packed my entire camp while I lingered in Cardiac Care. Kerry Bush, the Hamilton boys, Chris Meyers, Bill Dau, Al Haynes l, Jewelz Zaffuto, and many more called and visited. I’m very lucky to have you all in my life… thank you.
The Muzzleloader Fall Rendezvous for 2023 is now in the books. The weather was perfect for the event with a touch of rain on Sunday and way too many mosquitoes. The number of primitive camps was way down this year. The Flats was nearly clear with more and more Tin Teepees arriving for Rendezvous this year. We may need to open space for more tents on wheels in the future. This was the first event that made use of the new Target Shack and Transport 1.
Thanks to Scout Grant Klym, troop 185 for the Eagle Scout Efforts and to Craig Brown, Rick Hamilton, Al Southerland and Bill Klym for getting it ready for Targets. Transport 1 is our new club passenger trailer used to shuttle trade gun shooters to the bird shooting area and back. You’ll see it and its twin around the grounds whenever hauling passengers is required. Thanks to Gary Mobley and others for making it available to the club.
The following are the winning scores for the OCSC 2023 Fall Rendezvous
