The Clan of the Wolf does not have regular league shooting events like many of the other clubs at OCSC. We hold 2 Rendezvous events in the Spring and Fall where most of our competition takes place. We also participate in events held at various other Muzzleloader clubs in the area.
The smell of black powder smoke is best when cold, so we hold our “Winter Fun Shoot” in the coldest months of the year, just for fun. The Fun Shoots are held each Sunday in January and February starting at 10:00 am. The shoots are open to anyone who would like to participate, Member’s and Guests. Weekly shoot fees are $10 for non-members and $5 for members. Prizes are awarded each week for both rifle and trade gun shooters.
This event has been known to produce some pretty awesome Dutch oven meals. Shooters are always hungry, so please don’t be shy and bring along your favorite meals to share at the fire. Competition is strong in this area too, because being the best cook in camp is right up there with being the best shooter.
The Winter Fun Shoots are held each Sunday, regardless of the weather, but attendance has been known to be light on windy days in the low teens.
If you don’t have a Muzzleloader to shoot, don’t let that stop you. Come out anyway and maybe someone will show you the way around a front-end loader or you can just come to share the fire with us. If you are looking for something to do on a cold winter morning, we may have just the thing for you. Give it a try.
