As of right now, RW6 is 8 days away. Class championships and Top Ten positions are up for grabs, and with the Big Bore Bash and the Pursuit Race happening, it should be an exciting finale to our season!
As of today, there are 56 entries an encouraging sign. Thanks to Kelly’s hard work, you will probably read this before the weekend. There are a couple of things to keep in mind; The Mystical Forest will be going on in the woods behind the campground on Friday and Saturday evenings, so the amount of traffic will be high, so be careful leaving the track as there may be a lot of children running around.
Elections for open Board of Director positions will be held at during the General Membership meeting on October 2nd. As designed, 4 positions are up for election, or re-election every year. Come to the meeting and make your voice heard.
We will celebrate our season, our winners and the extraordinary contributions of some of our members at the annual Awards Banquet. It will be at 6PM Saturday, November 2nd at the OCSC Clubhouse. Full information is in the News section of our web page and in the Forum. Tickets are only $30.00 each, WHRRI is subsidizing the rest of the cost, and will be available both at registra-tion and on MSR. Please attend, it is fun, the food and camaraderie is good and the honorees de-serve your support!
Volunteer Appreciation Day is scheduled for Sunday, October 6th starting at 10AM. We owe all of our volunteers a debt of gratitude; this is our chance to show it. More information will be coming soon.
Our closing workbee will be happening soon after that, probably the weekend of the 13th. Watch the website and the forum for more information.
I have my two usual rants to close out with. Both WHRRI and OCSC count on volunteers to function. We need you! As a racer, you benefit directly from the work others do to make racing possible. You owe it to your fellow club members to contribute some of your time. The same is true with OCSC. Volunteering is rewarding, and as I have said before, WHRRI is full of very smart people who have a lot to offer. Just do it!
