“Mystery Safe” Winners
January 27, 2022Conservation Corner
January 27, 2022I hope everyone’s New Year is going well. As I write this, on January 4, I am still trying to figure out how it wasn’t me who won the gun safe last month!
With the track closed for the winter, there isn’t much to report. So, bear with me while I rehash what I’ve written re-cently- it bears repeating.
March 4, 5 and 6 is the annual (except for last year) Autorama show at TCF Center, better known as Cobo Hall. We will have 6 of our cars on display. I invite and encourage you to attend. Aside from our cars, some of the finest hot rods in the world will be on display.
Our driver’s school classroom will be April 15th, the on track sessions will be April 23rd and 24th. It is always a first class event, I’ve even seen people come from California to attend. If any of you have always wanted to race, this is a perfect opportunity! Contact us through our website, we will do all we can to make it happen. Race cars are even available to rent for the weekend.
If competition isn’t what you are looking for, we have also have Open Track Days starting in April. You can use your own street car (with some restrictions) to drive on the track as quickly as your car and skill will allow. Instruc-tors, riding along if virus restrictions allow, can teach you the “racing line’ and show you how to be quicker. You can check that out on the website too, or just ask one of us around the clubhouse.
Finally, we are looking for volunteers. We need people to work as Flaggers (corner workers). You get the best seat in the house to see the racing. We will train you.
Until next month,
Brian Murphy
