Shotgun News – January 2023

Happy New Year to all!

As we ring in a New Year, we also are ringing in a new Club President. Jake Arendsen has been elected by our members and officially takes over in January 2023. Jake has been a club member for the last two years and is active in our shooting leagues. He resides here in Clarkston, He is a Dad of two boys (Luke 5 & Eli 2) and married to his Wife Kirstie since 2014. During the day, his full time job is at McNeil Agency as an insurance agent. If not at the office, he can be found duck hunting Lake St. Clair or sitting in a tree stand deer hunting. Jake looks to keep the strong tradition of the club while implementing some new goals and updates around the shotgun club. In addition to Jake as President, he has also selected new board members to assist him around the club.

While the new board is excited to take the reins over, there are big shoes to fill. We thank Dan Valentini and his board members for their years of service. Their guidance, time, and energy something we are grateful for and does not go unnoticed. Please thank Dan when you see him around the club.
We are actively preparing for our Shotgun Banquet that will be this coming March 11th. Once again, we will have a great food menu and selection of prizes. Please set that date aside for a great evening of fun. Members and non-members are welcomed to attend. We are still looking for an Elk donation, so if anyone would like to donate to the banquet please contact Dan, Jake or the main club office.

Also, we are looking to hire 2-3 high school-aged pullers. Must have completed hunters a safety course. If you know of anyone please send them our way!
