March 1, 2024Long time OCSC Member James Campbell passed away, November 2023. His wife Bonnie called to tell us of his pass-ing, and she said that they both enjoyed their time here as well as all of the people they met at the OCSC. We give the family and friends of James our sincere condolences, he will be missed very much at the club.
Ronald Lee Soncrainte, Sr. passed away on January 30, 2024 at the age of 81. Ron served in the U.S. Navy. He served for 25 years as an Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood carving, traveling and dancing. He was a past President of Oakland County Sportsman’s Club. The family would like to thank the staff at the Ridge of Goodrich (formerly The Pines of Goodrich) for their amazing care and compassion the past four years. Terrance L. Abbott, age 64, of Livonia, passed away unexpectedly on February 13, 2024, while away on a work trip in Austin, Texas. Terry had a passion for racing unlike any other. You know that saying “I work to live”? Well, Terry lived to race. He was a lifetime member of Waterford Hills Road Racing, a longtime member of Oakland County Sportsman Club, and was heavily involved with Quarter Midgets of America. He began his racing career at a very young age and continued to race through his adult life. We here at OCSC give our heartfelt condolences to Terry’s family and friends, he’ll be missed around the race track! Kenneth “Ken” Edward Morawski Jr, of Clarkston, formerly of Warren and Madison Heights, passed away on February 21, 2024, at the age of 61. He was born October 27, 1962 in Dover, Delaware to Kenneth and Lydia Morawski. He believed in the conservation and protection of the planet and its resources. As an avid outdoorsman in Michigan, he could be found equally at home in the woods, on the water, or on the ice taking in the beauty of nature and fresh air. Shortly after moving to Clarkston, Ken became a member of the Oakland County Sportsmen’s Club. His primary areas of interest were in archery and firearms, though he enjoyed everything the club had to offer. During his time as an active club member, he achieved Lifetime Membership status. He was a frequent volunteer during archery jamborees, weekend race days, and as a cook at the weekly fish fry.
