Ladies Adventure Day 2023
June 26, 2023Shadows with Sympathy
July 1, 2023Clan of the Wolf
May and June have been months for the Clan of the Wolf members.
May rendezvous brought to mind a quote from Shakespeare… “Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May and summers lease hath all too short a day”. As is usually the case, we persevered through the rain, cold and wind. Despite the weather, everyone had a great time. The club members should be very proud of the way so many pitched in and work together to get the job done.
May also found the members participating in Junior Sportsmen’s Adventure Day. Throngs of youngsters descended upon the muzzleloader grounds to learn many skills that may very well prove useful in their future. It was a busy day!
June brought another opportunity to hone our skills by teaching 80 ladies some of the tricks of our trade. The second annual Ladies Adventure Day was thoroughly enjoyed by the women who participated and those of us working the event as well. The Gary and Gary show instructed the ladies in the art of making fire with flint and steel. Other Clan members provided tutelage in firing a muzzle-loading rifle, and throwing a knife and tomahawk. For their efforts everyone was presented with a plate of fruit cobbler that was cooked in cast iron Dutch ovens. Congratulations to Monique for putting this together and doing a great job with her team.
