From the President – October 2024

Let me start out this month on a positive note by saying “Congratulations to David and Ashley Moreno”, who were married here at OCSC, and WHRRI, on September 14th. What a beautiful ceremony and reception! They couldn’t have asked for better weather, well maybe 5-10 degrees cooler, but congratulations you two from the staff at OCSC.

Next big event going on is our muzzleloaders group who started setting up for their annual fall rendezvous.

I personally have to have to thank the group for their patience in working around the few obstacles that were dropped in their woods.

Wow! By the time everyone reads this article Waterford Hills Road Racing will have had their last race weekend of the season. Where did summer go?

Archery just hosted their league banquets and that side of the road will be a ghost town while the archers take to the woods to participate in what they have anticipated all year for. We all can’t stress enough, if you’re hunting off the ground in a tree blind, please wear a safety harness. Good luck to all our OCSC archers.

Last but not least, the club is a buzz about Mythicalforestmi.com. We had a commercial taping to which we were able to invite few families with their kids and grandkids, and everyone seemed to be pleased! I can tell you we had 2 years old kids who were hugging the animatronics, to big kids that were 74 (David Black). I think he was a little scared, lol, but it appeared everyone equally enjoyed it.

I’m going to sign off for now because my boat just got out of the shop after being in there since March. (just in time to winterize it) I hope I can catch at least 1 fish before the lakes freeze over.
