The next indoor 3D Shoot is Sunday, April 13th from 9 am-2 pm. Open to everyone, 30 targets total.
The State SAM (Society for Archery in Michigan) tournament is in the books. What a great and successful tournament we hosted. Over the weekend in February, we had 119 archers in the range with many JOAD participants. I personally have never witnessed so many shooters in our indoor range. It was particularly rewarding to see so many young JOAD archers taking part. I want to thank everyone that helped out with this tournament. We had a wonderful group helping to make this a success.
As I write this article the excitement is building for the IAA (Independent Archers Association) and TDS Archery 5 Spot Challenge that will take place on March 12th. Registration was limited to 48 participants and filled quickly. The line is completely full! This shoot has guaranteed minimum payouts of – 1st place $300, 2nd place $150, and 3rd place $75 for the Elite Class. The event will be live-streamed which will be great promotion for the club and sponsors.
The Club Championship will take place on March 19th and 20th. Results will be announced at the Winter Banquet. This is open to all Archery Club members.
Did someone mention a Winter Banquet? YES! After being canceled the last two years we will again have a Winter Banquet. It is so nice to be getting back to normal. Details for the banquet are still being worked out at this time. Make sure you get it on your calendar for April 23rd. Not only will we have a great dinner together, but we will also be presenting awards for all the winter leagues, announcing the Shooter of the Year, and the Slate of Officers for the Archery Board at the banquet.
Spring is ‘almost’ in the air and that means the summer 3D and Field & Hunter Leagues will be starting soon. Summer leagues start the first week of May. May 3rd 3D leagues start at 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. Field & Hunter leagues start May 5th at 9:00 am and 4:00pm. There will also be a Youth 3D Instructional League that starts May 3rd at 5:00pm.
Please come and join us at the monthly Archery Meeting to see what’s going on, and what is being planned around the Archery Club. We welcome your input and ideas. Check the back of the Club Magazine for the dates. The
meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month.
