We have been pretty well behaved and there has been good, hard racing. I hope the second half of the season goes as well!
August is a busy month. Race Weekend 5, August 24 and 25, is the second joint WHRRI/SCCA this year. There will be another big crowd and there will also be a concert on the turn 4 hill.
Archery is sponsoring it and it will begin right at 6pm after racing. The exciting thing about it for us is that it may bring in more new faces. We always say we are a “best kept secret”; bringing in new people may get them hooked on racing. There will be a cookout after the joint race. Please join us, and please bring a dish to pass or a donation.
I have my two usual rants to close out with. Both WHRRI and OCSC count on volunteers to function. We need you! As a racer, you benefit directly from the work others do to make racing possible. You owe it to your fellow club members to contribute some of your time. The same is true with OCSC. Volunteering is rewarding, and as I have said before, WHRRI is full of very smart people who have a lot to offer. Just do it!
