With the track closed for the winter, there still isn’t much to report.
I’d like to welcome new Chiefs; Brandon Collier and Brett Decker will start next season as co-Chiefs of Bracket Racing. Trevor Miller will officially be the Chief of Grid, although he assumed the job late last season. Also, congratulations to Ashley LaButte, who will be our new Impound Steward.
Don’t forget to come down to COBO for Autorama, March 4th, 5th and 6th. As I wrote last month, we will have 6 race cars on display, surrounded by some of the finest custom cars in the world. It’s worth the trip!
If you want to learn to race, our driver’s school classroom will be April 16th, the on track sessions will be April 23rd and 24th. We can help you make it happen. Race cars are even available to rent for the weekend. If you just want to learn better car control, check out our Open Track Days (OTDs). Most street cars are eligible. Ride along instructors are usually available. Both programs are filling up quickly.
Finally, as always, we are looking for volunteers. We need people to work as Flaggers (corner workers). You get the best seat in the house to see the racing. We will train you!
There are two seasons in Michigan- racing and not racing. We all look forward to the start of racing. By early next month we will be opening the track and preparing for the season. There will be more to write about, so you won’t have to endure me writing the same stuff every month.
Until next month,
Brian Murphy
