OCSC Reverse Raffle
March 1, 2023Women’s Auxiliary News – March 2023
March 1, 2023I hope winter, mild as it is, is going well for everyone. I trust that the major improvements that will turn your car into a lap record holder are at least half finished by now! It’s easy to think you still have plenty of time, but by the time you read this, racing is only two months away.
I didn’t mean to mislead anyone about “mandatory” attendance at monthly meetings. My poorly worded sentence was meant to remind everyone that everything you need to stay a current racer; OCSC dues, license fee, reserved paddock spots and car numbers are available during the meetings. Come see your friends, share a meal and a drink and sign up for racing 2023.
I will keep writing this because it still applies: Meetings are the perfect time to patronize the OCSC bar and kitchen. Gary Mobley has worked hard to staff the kitchen. The food I’ve had has been excellent and the beer is cold and cheap! WHRRI is our club. But so is OCSC! What goes on at the parent club has a significant effect on our club. All of us should participate in how the Club is run. The main club meeting is the last Wednesday of each month. Make a plan to come and see how we fit into the bigger picture.
If this comes out before Autorama, please sign up to come down to Cobo to help out.
We have talked about this at our meetings, but just a reminder that soon (March or April?) OCSC we’ll be having a charity scrap aluminum drive. The sub clubs will be competing to see who can turn the most in. We, as racers, should win the competition far and away with all the bent rims, radiators, etc. that just sit in a corner somewhere. I will have more details soon.
Until next Month,
Brian Murphy
