Vice President’s Corner – December 2023

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and had the opportunity to spend time with family and friends. Another weekend work project on the outdoor range will have taken place by the time this hits print, and we are making great progress. The fire pit behind the main club is undergoing repair and should be finished soon. These projects are all done with volunteers and we really appreciate it when members step up and get involved. Rifle and Pistol is currently running a raffle for an M1 Garand Rifle with proceeds going directly to the Outdoor Range Project. Only 150 tickets are being sold, so the chances of winning are very favorable.

It is very sad to hear of Art Miracle’s passing. He was a long-time member and a past President of OCSC. He gave a lot to the club and will be fondly remembered.

We are looking for club members who have experience in large graphic painting, We are always looking for volunteers for work bees and events. Please consider helping with some volunteer hours. It is rewarding work and a good way to meet other club members. If you want to get on a volunteer work list, please call the office or call me. It takes a lot of people to keep this club looking great and to make special events successful. Kitchen help is always needed too and help in this area is really appreciated.
